Rage Against The Machine DVD-ROM Presentation

The “Context” DVD-ROM presentation was created as a bonus feature for Rage Against the Machine’s The Battle of Mexico City concert DVD.

The disc’s producers, RegenerationTV, provided FORCEQUIT with text files and some photos but otherwise FQ had complete creative freedom. I came up with the initial design direction, then Sergio Robledo-Maderazo handled the text while I handled the underlying photos.

As this was for the DVD-ROM portion of the disc, it wasn’t accessible via a stand-alone DVD player, only a computer. And due to an authoring error (FQ wasn’t given an opportunity to QA the DVD), the Mac projector was encoded incorrectly, so it’s possible many Mac users couldn’t figure out how to watch the presentation.

Since FORCEQUIT didn’t receive credit for the project we added an easter egg, accessible by pressing the ‘/’ key.
